When I first started quilting, I was on my own. I was self taught, learning new things as I went along. When I was working on a pattern that required half square triangles, I dutifully cut out all the triangles and sewed the blocks together. Sadly, I was not always accurate enough and the blocks turned out wonky, pulling to one side or another.

It was only after I’d been quilting for a while that I learned there was a much easier way to make half square triangles.
