Back in October 2019, my husband and I travelled to the Netherlands for a vacation. We did the usual touristy things and I took him to the city of den Bosch, where my family is from. And, of course, I found a quilt shop in Amsterdam, Den Haan & Wagenmakers.
A young woman reached out to me to ask if I could make some memory quilts and cushions with her mom’s clothing. After some back and forth about what she envisioned, budget, etc., I agreed to do it. She gave me permission to share photos of what I make, but I’ll call her Mary as she prefers not to be identified.
I haven’t made a bag since my Q’Nique longarm followed me home a little over a year ago, but I decided it was time to make another one. I enjoy making bags, totes, and purses because I can make them in colours I like in styles I like.
When I bought my longarm quilting machine and frame, I had to settle for a smaller frame at 8 feet. I wanted a 10- or 12-foot frame, but my space is limited, so 8 feet was better than nothing.
