Earlier this month, I learned of a local organization that helps furnish rooms and apartments for people who had lived on the streets. I thought it was a great idea and while I wanted to contribute some quilts, I felt I had no time.
Back in October 2019, my husband and I travelled to the Netherlands for a vacation. We did the usual touristy things and I took him to the city of den Bosch, where my family is from. And, of course, I found a quilt shop in Amsterdam, Den Haan & Wagenmakers.
Several weeks ago, a writer I know who lives on the other side of Canada messaged me with an interesting request. She had an old quilt, one her grandmother made in the 1960s.
Last month quilters around the world marked International Quilting Day, or IQD. My guild, Loose Threads in Cote St. Luc, QC, hosted a Zoom quilting day for the members and some guests.
