I like to celebrate birthdays. Too many people hate the idea of getting older. That is their choice – but I’ve always found it a bit sad to be afraid of aging. We all age. It means we are still alive.

Do you have other hobbies or ways of expressing your creative efforts? I’ve always loved making things with my hands. When I was a child, my babysitter taught me how to knit and how to do embroidery. She tried to teach me crocheting, but that was something I couldn’t get into. But I did keep knitting for many years.
When I first saw this NYC skyline panel, I knew I had to have it. My original intention was to use it for a One Block Wonder quilt – but it turned out that there was too much black to really work.
How many times have you looked at a photo online and then read “Please don’t mind the messy desk” or something like that? Then, of course, you notice it when you may not have paid any attention otherwise. Same with quilting. Someone shows you a lovely quilt but says, “oh, but see the mistakes I made?”
