This was a fun quilt to make and quilt. I found a paper piecing pattern called Wild Winnie. I wasn’t wild (pun intended!) about the dusky rose color scheme in the photo I saw, but I imagined how wonderful it would look with multiple colors and that is how I ended up with Spinning Wheels.
You know that feeling – the one you get when you realized you just sewed the wrong fabrics together or one the wrong way around. But it happens. Time to pull out your handy dandy seam ripper and take out that errant seam and find the best and fastest way to pull it out. But…I recently bought a battery operated seam ripper after hearing about them for a long time. I never realized what at time saver this device is. This short video shows you how to use the battery operated tool and you may decide you want to give one a try.

When you have many quilt blocks that need the same size pieces added, the quickest way to do this is by chain piecing. Rather than stopping and starting at the beginning and end of each block, you just sew a whole line of blocks together without stopping. Watch how I do it in this short video.
