Fun Weekend Project: Round Table Placemats

If you’re looking for a fun and easy project to keep you busy during this period of self isolation or you just want a weekend project, here’s one for you.
Do you have a round kitchen, dining room, or patio table? I have one in the kitchen and it can be hard to find good sized placemats for four people. Regular placemats are too big and end up butting or overlapping each other.

Attending Classes and Workshops

A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of attending a Ricky Tims Luminarium workshop. Over the two days, Ricky talked, taught, demonstrated, and even sang for us. When I first drove down to Burlington, VT, for the two-day session, I thought, what on earth is he going to talk about for two days? My only experience with workshops were, at the most, a day long. With my fibromyalgia-fatigue, I thought there was no way I’d get through two days of talking without falling asleep right in front of him. I needn’t have worried.

Let’s Talk About Backings

Do you wonder about how to back your quilts? Do you struggle to find the right backing? Should you, could you use a sheet? What about a softer fabric, like flannel or minky?
