How Did I Quilt That: Healing

The concept of this wall hanging came to me a few years ago. As with my quilt Beyond the Brick Wall, the image of healing popped into my head out of nowhere. Just as with the Brick Wall, whenever I let my mind wander, the image for healing came back. Each time, it was a bit more defined and after a couple of weeks, I knew I had to make it.

Have You Ever Done a Block of the Month?

Have you ever participated in a block of the month quilt? A BoM isn’t the same thing as a mystery quilt. For a block of the month, you know what the final product will be. A mystery quilt is one where you get directions for a block each month but you don’t know what you will get until you’re done. I’ve done both and while a mystery quilt is fun, I prefer the block of the month.

Please Stop Saying “Ignore the Mistakes/Mess/Whatever”

How many times have you looked at a photo online and then read “Please don’t mind the messy desk” or something like that? Then, of course, you notice it when you may not have paid any attention otherwise. Same with quilting. Someone shows you a lovely quilt but says, “oh, but see the mistakes I made?”
